School Profile Overview

The Görres-Gymnasium Koblenz, founded in 1582 as a Jesuit college, is the oldest Gymnasium in Koblenz, located in the historic centre near the Rhine and Moselle confluence (Deutsches Eck). Named after the Catholic publicist and scholar Joseph Görres, the school upholds a distinguished humanist orientation centered around Latin, Ancient Greek, and classical philosophy.

In addition to classical scholarship, Görres-Gymnasium maintains active experimental science tracks, an acclaimed chamber choir and orchestra, and exchange initiatives with schools in Italy and France.
